My studio practice centers around wearable art pieces. I aim to bridge the gaps between art, craft, fashion, and functionality. I explore quilting, patchwork, and embroidery techniques to create one of a kind and small edition genderless garments. I am a self-taught pattern maker, sketching abstract shapes that evolve into voluminous, genderless wearable art pieces. These pieces are constructed of natural fibers from my work with organizations revitalizing the hand loom weaving industry in West Bengal, a trade that is becoming a lost art in the region. I also incorporate deadstock fabric, over-dye, leather, and wood into my zero waste pieces. My work is for collectors in pursuit of clothing with a deeper meaning that will last forever, rather than a single season.
