Whimsical Pottery based on nature

How does a hair stylist become an artist?
Getting an F on a ceramics art project, then later in life being invited to display in a gallery!
From 45 years of life, to having the spark ignite!
I knew what was in my head, had to get out! Taking refresher courses at Minnetonka Center for the Arts, gathering inspiration from Tom Rose, Susan Mansfield, and various artist, I acquired equipment, built a studio, and became free!
I was never satisfied doing traditional pottery. Loved being near the great outdoors. My studio is in the north woods of Minnesota.
I make my Ceramics all for fun, not always sure where my designs come from, but I create as I go. I really love the off the wall caricatures that bring a new look to ceramics, with a touch of whimsical humor, and a passion to make people smile. Things that are one of a kind, that haven’t been seen before.
Mixed media, with wood and metal added to my ceramics, with fun layering of glazes and textures. This creates a good feeling when you see them, brings smiles to faces, and that gives my so much joy!
My studio is my happy place, that gives me a freedom to create.
Hope my pieces bring a smile to your face!
