Paintings on cardboard
Hannah Graber lives in Chicago, IL and works out of her bedroom studio as a full time artist. She grew up in Elmhurst, IL, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago.
Hannah paints on cardboard using acrylics and graphite to create story-like figurative paintings that embrace themes of familiarity, comfort, and nostalgia. Her work explores efforts towards self-connection through an intimate investigation of the human experience.
She is motivated by moments that capture the simplicity of the human experience at its core, seeking inspiration from daily life and found vintage photos.
Hannah started painting on cardboard in 2023 as a way to combat an intense wave of artist block during her final year of undergrad. After enjoying the materialistic properties, she has since adopted it into her daily practice.
