Maggie Clifford-Bandstra (she/her) is a Michigan-based artist who engages a material-driven practice to abstract the natural world into an immersive experience of pattern, movement, and scale. Her work explores nature as a site of healing and connection, translating organic rhythms into forms that invite slowing down, noticing, and embodied response.
Through layered surfaces and tactile processes, Maggie considers how materials hold memory and how repetition, gesture, and structure can mirror cycles found in both landscapes and human experience. Her work reflects a commitment to living creatively — where making becomes a shared language for connection, care, and presence.
She maintains an active studio practice in Grand Haven, Michigan, alongside a lifelong dedication to teaching and learning, grounding her work in both experimentation and community. Maggie holds an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
