Pat Rued Hand Painted Fiber

As a self taught artist Pat Rued’s work is the result of much trail and error on the path to developing a style of her own. She strives to create unique garments and accessories that will be worn and enjoyed for many years. There are many steps involved in the completion of each piece. First fabric dying and overdying is done by brushing on color or using various shibori techniques. Further surface design is added using various paints, dyes resists and discharge agents. Several techniques on natural fabrics are usually used to achieve the desired affect of each piece. Once the fabric sections are completed they are carefully cut and sewn to make a classic garment that the wearer will feel great in for many years.
