New World Cartographic was founded by Sammy Berk over 15 years ago in the south side of Chicago. Back then, we dealt exclusively in rare and antique maps dating back as far as the 15th century. Over the years though, we’ve expanded our focus to include antique prints, ephemera, and anything generally old, visually striking, and on paper.
Motivated by our desire to diffuse the rich historical content and stunning visuals of our collection as widely as possible, we strive to be equally accessible to collectors, scholars, and laymen alike. Our meticulously researched descriptions ensure that each of these demographics will find what they’re looking for in our pieces no matter the approach they bring to the piece. Whether you are an avid collector, history buff, looking for a piece of history to represent your family’s ancestry, or just want a pleasing map to decorate your home or office, we have something for you.
Though we exclusively deal in originals, we also produce fine-print reproductions of our pieces through The Vintage Map Shop, our sister business. If any of our pieces interest you but the size or price point isn’t right, we’d be happy to print you something that meets your needs.
