Michael Van Zeyl

I have been a visual artist living and working in Chicago for 25 years. The oil paintings I will be showing at One of a Kind Show represent a collection of work exploring themes of Figures with Botanicals, Local d Professional Dancers and Classical Still Life. Making art is my passion and I love creating a dialog that connects with others. My formal training began at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, continuing on at Chicagos Historic Palette & Chisel Academy and the Art Students League in New York. I am currently a faculty and board member at the Palette & Chisel and my work is appreciated in many public and private collections, such as the United States District Court, University of Chicago, DePaul University School of Law, Chicago Theological Seminary and Delta Air lines. I have received awards from the Portrait Society of America, the Oil Painters of America and the 2014 recipient of the Dorothy Driehaus Mellin Fellowship for Midwestern Artists.
