I LOVE robots! Not the AI kind but the toy robot kind. I have three robot series that were inspired by a trip to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry in 2007 where I saw a collection of Japanese toy robots from the 40s and 50s. At the time of the show, I took hundreds of reference photos that have since inspired oil paintings, etchings and woodblock prints, and now felt and multi-media robots. I have a background in Illustration and Painting and keep coming back to portraits of robots because they are humorous, colorful and bring out the child in us all.
