Jill Kittock is an illustrator who paints people in mundane moments but in intricate, lush interior spaces. Her scenes are imbued with symbolism and clever details to make the viewer look closely and see new things each time. Inspired by other people's family photographs, pop culture, history, fashion, home interiors and novels. Her work is charming, humorous and indulgent. Sometimes a little lonely, a little macabre, and a little silly. She hopes to convey the lavishness of life; the peacefulness of moment alone with a book and a snack; the warmth of friendship; and sometimes the dark weirdness of being alone in the modern world. She works in acrylic gouache, pen and ink, digital painting and enjoys illustrating for Risograph and silkscreen. She sells original paintings and prints, t-shirts, stickers and buttons that can be found on her website and in shops around the US.
