Vandana Jain is a Chicago based artist, whose vibrant paintings of nature are inspired by her travels, which brought her face to face with majestic leopards in Namibia to beautiful birds in Botswana. She translates those experiences into vivacious and colorful paintings that invite you to stay in the present and revel in the beauty of Mother Earth.

Beyond wildlife, Vandana captures the serene allure of landscapes, creating mesmerizing scenes of sunrises, sunsets, and vast fields of flowers. These works reveal her keen attention to nature’s delicate details, seamlessly blending realism with abstract touches that inspire awe.

Using a variety of mixed media – including collage, inks, spray paints, markers, gold leaf, acrylics and oils – Vandana creates textured paintings that bring to life the energy of animals, birds, plants, and striking landscapes. She begins her process by selecting textured paper to use in the collage base that makes her abstract backgrounds distinct. From there, she uses free-flowing, brilliant inks to cover the canvas and paint markers to bring out certain details. She then applies acrylics to bring her subjects to life and finishes with oil paints for added depth and texture.

Her unique style contrasts realistic subjects against ethereal, abstract backgrounds, resulting in artwork that exudes liveliness, serenity, and joy.
