Nature inspires my work.
Having grown up in the mountains of Colorado and been transplanted to the prairies of Illinois, nature has been a constant inspiration to my work. Most of my days begin with a walk in the prairie- a bend of a tree branch, the swaying of grasses in the breeze, the changing seasonal color palate all influence and animate my work.
I find working with clay an intimate engagement with this world.
I strive to create a shape that is functional as well as visually appealing. My hope is that the joy I derive in creating my art transfers to the person using my pieces in their daily life.
