Ceramics, Emerging Artists, New to One of a Kind
King Clayworks
Hand-painted botanically inspired functional porcelain
Jayne King is a Chicago-born artist and graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA 2022), where she spent her time focusing on ceramics, object collection, and book making.
King began making ceramic objects on the pottery wheel eleven years ago during high school, in that time experimenting with different clays and processes to refine the techniques she uses today to decorate each one of a kind piece. All her tableware is formed out of porcelain, on the wheel or through hand-building, then carefully carved and painted with botanical and nature motifs inspired by vintage illustrations. All glazes are food safe; hand-washing recommended.
