Hi! I’m Paola Gracida, and I’m a ceramic artist.

I hold an MFA from the Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden and a BFA in Industrial Design from Mexico City. I currently live and work in my studio in Chicago, Illinois.

Through my work, I aim to create objects that feel friendly, personal, and part of everyday life — pieces that invite conversation and show the touch of a human hand. I love the idea of people using my ceramics to bring color and playfulness into their homes, making each space uniquely theirs.

Life and work have taken me to many places — Mexico, Sweden, Finland, Brazil, and now the United States. Experiencing these different cultures has opened my eyes to the beauty in diversity and taught me to constantly question and expand my own way of seeing the world. Regardless of the differences between all these cultures culture, these experiences taught me about all shared values that remind us of what it truly means to be human.

There’s something about ceramics that mirrors this journey. Clay is a living, ever-changing material — it asks you to be fully present. The process constantly responds to your touch, reflecting every gesture and decision. In that sense, working with clay feels like a dialogue — a continuous conversation between the material and the person.

Hope we meet!
