I dont remember a time when I wasn't in awe of the beauty in the world around me, whether along a sandy shoreline, tracking the pattern of snow fall, staring at mountain tops, or digging around in my own garden. My love for nature inspires my wood relief, lino prints, collagraphs, and eco prints. Two Trees Studio is my ode to Nelson, the small town in British Columbia, surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains and Kootenay Lake, where I grew up - the place where my love for nature was born. I attended Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and graduated with a major in printmaking and took another year to get my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. After art school, I headed off in new directions as a teacher and eventually the CEO of my beloved family in the Chicago area. Over the years I still found art sneaking into my day to day (caricatures, photography and sketching were as much for me as for friends and family) but it was more recently that I found myself reconnecting with that part of myself again. I am an avid gardener and through this passion I rediscovered how deeply connected I feel to nature and how satisfying it is to represent this in my artwork. I want to reflect the beauty I see everyday and hope to inspire others to take the time to celebrate the beauty that surrounds us.
