Sher Schier’s mixed media, Lyrical Color Poems, are modern yet classic pieces that bring a visceral sense of calm harmony. An alumni of the School of The Art Institute of Chicago, Schier’s work synthesizes the similar tangible properties of music, nature, love and design and embodies her study of the Nature of Love and the transformative power of Harmony. The pieces are intimate distillations of the vital fullness and tender fragileness of her world.
Study for her degrees in Fine Art, Visual Communication and Art History included study abroad in London, England and inspiring museums such as The Louvre, The Uffizi and Tate Modern.
Schier resides in her native Wisconsin where she works from a lakeside studio immersed in her foundational inspiration of living nature. She enjoys taking early morning walks with a 3 year old chocolate lab.
She is also internationally recognized for her illustration and design of Holiday Cards, created during a 17 year collaboration with The Museum Shop of The Art Institute of Chicago. Her cards will also be available at the show and on her site.
