Shawn Lohse Art

My name is Shawn Lohse, and I am an artist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. My art focuses on the relationship between the dynamic and contained, with watercolor as my favorite medium. My work features nature, animals, and figures. I love spending time in nature, and feel most myself when I am in the forest, among the trees and animals that reside there.

The purpose of this figure series is to create space for women to find themselves in the figures, and to reflect on the beauty, vulnerability, strength, and resilience of who they are, in every form. The color palette, and the way the colors stand alone and at times merge together highlights the multitudes that exist in each of us.
