RY Designs
I created RY Designs from a very personal love of making things with my hands and a lifelong fascination with the beauty that surrounds me.
Growing up in Egypt, I was always drawn to patterns, colors, architecture, and the little traces of history woven into everyday life. Living and traveling in different countries later opened my eyes to new ways of seeing and creating, and those experiences continue to find their way into my jewelry.
With a background in interior design and a Master of Design from UNSW Sydney, Australia. I see jewelry as a form of miniature architecture. I studied metalsmithing in New York and Chicago, where I fell deeply in love with working with metal. Returning to Chicago now as an exhibitor feels especially meaningful, it brings my work back to a city that was once part of my own creative journey.
I work with 925 sterling silver, hand painted enamel, natural stones, and mother of pearl, creating pieces that are playful, unexpected, and full of character. I create pieces that can be worn in more than one way or reveal a different design from each side.
There is a story behind every piece I create sometimes inspired by Egypt, a place I’ve visited, or a pattern that caught my eye.
Founded in Cairo in 2019, RY Designs is my way of turning the places, memories, and details that move me into something you can carry with you.
I don’t design jewelry simply to be worn. I design pieces to be discovered, loved, and carried with you.
