Letterpress and block printed items
We’re a father/daughter printmaking and design team specializing in letterpress and woodblock printing. We call ourselves design archaeologists, as many of the items we print highlight historical designs and patterns which would otherwise be lost or destroyed. Additionally, we create our own original designs. All of our designs and patterns are letterpress or block printed on items such as art prints, linens, journals, greeting cards, etc.

French Ribbons
$150
View detailsThese French Ribbons prints are printed from a hand-carved wooden block. Then, one by one, each are painted either in this full color version, or in a monochromatic blue version. They’re based on antique French domino papers, or “papiers dominotés”, which were used to cover the outside of books before binding. This one was influenced by a paper originally created in 1790, and may have also been used as a book endpaper, or wallpaper. These are printed on 100% cotton paper from Khadi Papers in India, from recycled garment industry offcuts. Read more about our materials. Signed and numbered edition. Prints are hand printed on our printing press from 1910, and painted in our studios. Image size is 13 3/8 x 16 1/2 inches, paper sizes vary slightly. -
Oiseau et Rose
$150
View detailsHand-printed and hand-painted, these prints revive a wonderful wallpaper design. Inspired by an 18th Century paper by a hosier named Benoist Huquier in Orleans, France, it is faithfully reproduced by hand printing the design in dark brown, and all the details are hand painted as it would have been done originally. Comprising of roses and other foliage, a bird, the design is stunning and looks great in an antique or new frame. This design originally was used as endpapers in a book, but due to it being a repeating pattern, would have also been used as wallpaper.
