Hooker Pottery

I strive to make pots that are simple, rustic, and beautiful, inspired both by my love of Korean and Japanese pottery traditions as well as the Midwest prairies, forest preserves, and marshes where I walk daily. They are pots meant to bring beauty and joy to everyday routines and rituals. They are made to invite a moment of contemplative reflection in a world increasingly full of distraction.

I have been a potter and an art professor for over 30 years now, and I still wake up every morning eager to get back in the studio. I have been really fortunate to have my work exhibited both nationally and internationally, including two summers in Gansu, China as a visiting artist in the Lanzhou Ceramic Residency.
