Hiyama Studios

Carole Grisham is the artist behind Hiyama Studios. This is where Carole creates vibrantly colored textile and beaded jewelry from fiber and monofilament threads and small, delicate glass beads. All work is done by hand, bead by bead and thread to thread. When the goal is a much-loved treasure, perfection is key.

Carole’s love for the handmade comes from working with her mother, Alyce Hiyama, a talented tailor and costumer. She has perfected her skills through study, teaching, and continued practice. She has returned to this first love, after successful careers with Pacific Northwest companies and organizations.
