Who would have thought the cowhide bag that I bought in 2010 would completely change my world?

It didn’t matter where I went, people stopped and asked me where I bought it.

My creative juices started flowing and guess what I was determined to make? Cowhide purses! There was only one problem…I didn’t know how to start! After months of leatherwork lessons, my first tote bag was complete. Before long I had designed an entire line of purses and accessories using gorgeous hair-on-hide which sold right off of my arm. Hearing my customers tell me, ​“I love my bag” inspires me to sew until wee hours of the night.

Each time that I stamp my signature red rose onto a finished Harriet’s Hides purse, I honor the memory of my mother, Harriet. It’s at that moment when I can picture her winking at me as though she’s saying, ​“Keep on making beautiful purses, Sheryl Anne! I don’t know how on earth that you do it!”
