Delaney and Blu is all about crafting bold and whimsical wearable art that's as unique as us individuals. Each piece is lovingly handmade by yours truly, using polymer clay as my canvas to create lightweight statement jewelry that's all about bringing one confidence, the joy color, and a whole lot of happiness. What sets my polymer clay earrings apart from the rest? It's all in the mix! I blend real flowers and herbs from my own garden into the clay, I like to add playful screen prints, and hand-paint vibrant, eye-catching designs. To make them truly shine, I finish them off with a glossy coat of resin. And let's not forget the unique shapes and brass elements that take them from ordinary to extraordinary. Delaney and Blu isn't just jewelry; it's a celebration of playful, one-of-a-kind art you can wear with pride. A little about our begingings... I wanted to start this business long ago but was unable to because my husband and I were teaching overseas in Vietnam and I had no means for materials; but I still dreamed up this dream and planned for its coming one day. I started the business in April 2021 because I needed a job with some flexibility. My husband and I were forced to live apart in 2020 because of visa issues and all the crazy things COVID brought with it. I needed a job I could leave when needed to see my husband in his home country of South Africa. We are still living apart after three years. While I was visiting my husband he urged me to pick up my clay again and start creating. I began posting my pieces online and the business really took off from there! I do not think I would be here today if I did not have my husband to encourage me and push me to take a risk and pursue my dreams. I am so grateful to him and I am grateful to all of my customers who have kept me going. Our story is still unfolding but I see beauty in all the chaos, hard times can create beautiful and magical things, it's all in how you look at it! That is one reason I love to bring in something light, colorful and bold to the mix of all this crazy. Our world, our lives needs a little more happiness ad color to remind us that there is beauty in all of this.
