Crystal Lake Sky Jewelry
Handmade jewelry with vintage treasures
I am the designer and maker behind Crystal Lake Sky Jewelry. As the daughter of a sculptor and a very creative mother, I grew up in a home filled with art, antiques and unusual objects, where making things was simply part of everyday life.
I studied fashion design at Columbia College Chicago and moved to New York City after graduation, beginning a career in fashion and accessories that would span more than 20 years. Over the years, I designed for brands including Target, Free People and Claire’s Boutiques, among many others. After moving back to Chicago and spending so many years designing for mass production, I found myself wanting to return to the experience that first made me love design — working with my hands and creating something individual from beginning to end.
Crystal Lake Sky grew from that desire. I create one-of-a-kind and limited-edition jewelry by combining vintage and antique finds with semi-precious stones, pearls, chains and other carefully sourced elements. My process is intuitive, often beginning with a single unusual piece and evolving through combinations of color, texture, scale and shape. I love giving forgotten and found objects a new life and transforming fragments of the past into something personal, modern and wearable.
