Etched and Painted Clay Objects
Wake Forest, North Carolina
In 1995 I arrived to the indigenous pottery village of San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Interacting with local potters over 2 decades particularly Don Gregorio Bracamonte I becan to learn a rich and sacred culture embedded in the clay.
Today my ceramic sculptures combine that deep cultural process while adding modern color, texture and design.
The results are my one of kind multimedia sculptures maintaining traditional methods while electrifying them with metallic energy and color.
