Kicheko Goods

Kicheko is a female-owned social impact jewelry brand based in Washington, D.C. Founded and owned by Sarah Bayot, Kicheko’s designs are guided by producing distinctive mixed media pieces that imbue boldness, playfulness and simple elegance. Our jewelry is made using wax-casting, hammering, joining, and traditional forming techniques. We also work with smaller metal manufacturers on our fabrication and plating. Inspired by balance, geometry and nature, Kicheko's earrings, necklaces and rings are designed with gold-plated/filled brass, rhodium, black-plating, other metals, wood, fiber, pearls, beads, acetate, natural stone, and lab grown opals. Our collection features earring components that are sawed, sanded and drilled from metal sheets and then electroplated in gold or black rhodium. Earrings with howlite stone and lab grown opals are bezel set. Our posts are made of stainless steel and gold-plated brass. We source our AAA+ freshwater pearls from local suppliers and our Tahitian pearls from Hawaii. Our wooden and glass beads are from bead suppliers in the U.S. All of our jewelry is nickel free and hypoallergenic. Inspired and motivated by social impact models and the founder's personal experience volunteering in orphan care efforts in the DR Congo, a portion of Kicheko's proceeds have been dedicated to a scholarship fund for elementary students in eastern Congo. In 2020, Kicheko's social impact shifted locally contributing towards education, arts programs, social justice and adjacent causes.
