I am a mixed media artist based in Sacramento, California. I relish the combination of contemporary design with the unexpected utilization of found, recycled, and/or repurposed materials. In my collages I use book pages, wrapping paper, found objects and fragments of antique hardware mixed with acrylic paint over textured backgrounds to create works depicting moments in time. I try to portray body language and facial expressions that might make the viewer stop and ponder the situation or stir a memory of time spent with friends or family. Adding antique elements and found objects allows the viewer to connect with the art, bringing a sense of nostalgia or sparking a memory. Each work capturing daily life as subject matter in which the actual event has yet to take place or has just ended: moments frozen in time to become the memory of an event that will never take place. I have been commission to do artwork for major corporations, individuals and public projects. My work has been included in the publication INCITE, THE BEST OF MIXED MEDIA in 2014 and 2015. I received a Jurors Choice Award and was named as one of the top ten artists to visit during San Francisco open studios in 2014. In 2019 I was awarded the title Mixed Media Artist of the Year by Art Design Consultants/ADC. I have dedicated the majority of my career to working with nonprofit organizations and as an artist, continue to give back by participating in projects that strengthen the community. In 2017 I was honored to receive the Outstanding Service Award from the Arts & Business Council of the Sacramento Region.
