Jeff Servos

Jeff D. Servos is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Toronto, Canada and based in Chicago, Illinois. He’s a self-taught artist with a background in UI/UX design and Art Direction. Currently, Servos is participating in several juried art shows throughout Chicago and working on a private exhibition in September 2023. Servos deconstructs and examines the western class system and its effects on self and identity. He has developed a motif of informality and frankness, a practice that encompasses paintings, sculpture, collage, performance, and installation. Servos harmonizes representational imagery with abstraction to depict bold patterns, objects, and possessions that influence and define us. Servos is influenced by Abstract Expressionism and Dada, and recalls artists such as Franz Kline, CY Twombly, and Marcel Duchamp. He is equally inspired by other living contemporary artists, including Derrick Adams, Tracey Emin, and Tyrrell Winston. Servos uses a range of materials and techniques in his work, including acrylics, oils, household paint and products, and found or sourced objects. He gravitates towards materials that reinforce a sense of familiarity and temperature.
