All my interest and education come together in the simple form of the hat. A fibers degree helps me take hat shapes and hand working techniques from a variety of cultures and time periods, and look at them through an artist's eye. I combine hi-tech modern materials with traditional hand working techniques, to make hats that work. I then manipulate and add on to the form, poking holes and stitching with satin ribbon, strips of fleece and hand formed details to make stylish hats that work.
